The Technical and Vocational University (TVU) has undergone a significant transformation as it is now officially known as the National University of Skill (NUS). This change comes after receiving approval from the Development Council of Higher Education in Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology on June 23, 2024. The rebranding aims to signify the university's expanded mission to cultivate high-level skills that are crucial for today's global economy.

With the new name, NUS aims to strengthen its identity and align itself with national priorities concerning vocational education. This shift is expected to increase the university's appeal to students, industry partners, and international collaborators. Furthermore, to complement this name change, NUS is rolling out strategic initiatives that include restructuring its budget, establishing a Professional Qualifications Deputy, and launching a Skill and Creative Industries Park.

These initiatives are geared towards standardizing qualifications through the National Qualifications Framework, forging stronger ties with industry partners, and positioning NUS as a frontrunner in skill development, innovation, and workforce readiness on both a national and international scale. By embracing this new identity as the National University of Skill, NUS is poised to make significant contributions to the advancement of skill development in Iran and beyond.
