Technical and Vocational University Evaluated in the UI GreenMetric Ranking System

According to the General Office of Public Relations, Farajollah Talebi, Director General of the International Scientific Cooperation office for Technical and Vocational University(TVU), stated: Considering the necessity of introducing TVU internationally through continuous presence in the world rankings, once again TVU evaluated in the UI GreenMetric global ranking system and included in the list of top universities in the world, ranked as the 877^th world's most sustainable university in 2021 UI GreenMetric world University rankings, 460^th in Asia and 39^th in Iran.

Talebi explained the six evaluation criteria in the UI GreenMetric ranking system to examine the policy and performance of universities in terms of social, national and international responsibility of higher education and research centers in the following cases:

1. Qualitative development of education and research
2. Infrastructure planning and Infrastructure development to reduce energy consumption
3. Replacement of renewable energy due to climate change and global warming
4. Waste management and recycling
5. Optimal water consumption
6. Development of eco-friendly transportation system

He added: "The score of the Technical and Vocational University in the field of" Replacement of renewable energy "has been admirable, and in other fields, It is expected that in all affiliated TVU branches across the country, we will see progress in the path of sustainable development and benefit as much as possible from green and eco-friendly solutions and approaches, reducing fossil fuel consumption, and preventing energy waste.

It is worth mentioning that according to the UI GreenMetric ranking in 2021, the top three universities in the world are:
1.Wageningen University & Research - Netherlands
2. University of Nottingham - United Kingdom
3. University of Groningen - Netherlands

And the top three universities in Asia in 2021:
1. Universitas Indonesia - Indonesia
2. King Abdulaziz University - Saudi Arabia
3. Universiti Putra Malaysia - Malaysia

At the end, he appreciated and thanked the unconditional supports of esteemed president of TVU and cooperation of all deputies in the headquarters, and  worthwhile efforts of TVU family in all faculties and colleges in different provinces for sustainable development of the university and also accurate collection of information and statistics of human sources, physical space, training facilities of workshops and laboratories, etc.
